Collection: Skin care for pregnancy and breastfeeding

Even when you are pregnant, you can continue to use skin care products, and in fact it is recommended to do so as during pregnancy (and breastfeeding) the skin can become particularly demanding. It may become dry more easily, be oilier than usual or be more sensitive to inflammation.

However, there are a few ingredients that should be avoided during pregnancy: products containing retinol, strong acids and heavily perfumed products.

You can replace retinol with the plant-derived anti-aging ingredient bakuchiol or, for example, hyaluronic acid, ginseng extract and fermented bifida lactic acid extract that strengthens the skin's microbiome.

You can also add a gentle vitamin C product and niacinamide to your routine, as pigmentation, such as melasma, may appear on the skin. Brightening products, combined with a sunscreen that protects the skin from UV rays, help keep the skin bright and radiant throughout the entire pregnancy.

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, you may want to invest in a simple skin care routine that works. However, remember to:

-soothe the skin with e.g. Centella Asiatica and panthenol

-moisturize especially at night when moisture tends to evaporate from the skin

-protect the skin from the sun

-use gentle cleansing products
