Kosteusvoide on tärkeä viimeinen vaihe ihon kosteutuksessa. Lisää muiden ihonhoitotuotteiden jälkeen, aamuisin ennen aurinkovoidetta.

Etanamusiini kosteuttaa, tasapainottaa ihon suojakerroksen toimintaa, tehostaa kollageenintuotantoa, rauhoittaa tulehduksia ja ihoärsytystä, sekä on anti-inflammatorinen antioksidanttien lähde. Etanamusiini tunnetaan myös nimillä etanafiltraatti, etanaseerumi ja etanalima – englanniksi se tunnetaan nimellä "snail mucin" tai "snail secretion filtrate". Nimensä mukaisesti etanamusiini on etanan tuottamaa eritettä, limaa, jolla ne pitävät itsensä kosteutettuna.
